BP157 Piezoresistive Diffused Silicon Pressure Transmitter

Introduction:

The sensor contains a thin silicon diaphragm that acts as the sensing element. The diaphragm is fabricated using microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) technology.piezoresistive resistors are diffused into the silicon diaphragm, forming a Wheatstone bridge circuit. These resistors change their resistance when the diaphragm deforms under pressure.When pressure is applied to the sensor, the silicon diaphragm deforms. The deformation causes a change in the stress on the piezoresistive elements.The stress induced by the pressure changes the resistance of the piezoresistive elements in the Wheatstone bridge.The stress induced by the pressure changes the resistance of the piezoresistive elements in the Wheatstone bridge.The raw output from the Wheatstone bridge is typically very small and needs amplification. Signal conditioning circuits amplify and convert the signal into a standard output format (e.g., 4-20mA, 0-5VDC, or digital output).
